                     M. Lewis WALKER (USA)

M. Lewis Walker American Surrealist
Artist, living in Oklahoma City, OK,
in the the mid-western of the United
States, after living many years in
San Diego, South California (USA)

«Artist Statement: My love of metaphor was
inspired   by my  father.  I see "Chess" and
therefore   "Chess  Art"    as  the  perfect
vehicles to explore ourselves. I considered
my father to be a great teacher who was
very opinionated. Although not academically
educated, he never missed an opportunity to
impart his views about politics, human nature,
religion,   philosophy,  etc.   He had  a gift for
using  metaphor  as a teaching  tool and  one
such metaphor that he shared on more than
one occasion was as follows: "Everything that
we do and say (as individuals) is simply an ex-
tension of our inner self." What he meant was
that, whatever is truly happening inside an
individual will eventually manifest itself.
Knowing that i had artistic aspirations..he
shared with me the following...

"Before the artist can paint, the
artist must first learn to see".
