"trompe-l'oeil et réalité" ~
«Daniel Solnon est né en 1943 à
Paris, où il vit. Il est marié et
père de deux enfants. Sa vocation
de peintre naît dès son plus jeune
âge, au contact du peintre suisse
Robert Wherlin qui vit comme lui
à Anthony et à qui il rend souvent
visite. Sa jeunesse est aussi
marquée par le Morvan, où il retourne
chaque été. Dans son village nivernais
de Moulins-Engilbert, il rencontre
Gilou et travaille avec lui sur le
motif. Ce n'est que vers 1970,
après avoir pratiqué toutes sortes
de petits métiers, qu'il décide,
aidé par son grand-père Georges-Armand
Masson (qui créé le Salon du Dessin
et de la Peinture à l'Eau), de se
consacrer à la peinture. Il peint
d'abord des portraits dans la rue,
les grands hôtels ou les grands
magasins parisiens, des paysages,
des natures mortes... En 1981,
le Maître Henri Cadiou l'invite
à présenter un trompe-l'oeil au
Salon Comparaison... D'abord
un peu rétif, il se lance dans
l'aventure, elle deviendra
déterminante...»
