Liberty Enlightening the World by Auguste
Bartholdi (1834-1904). At the occasion of
the Exposition Universelle de 1900, the
sculptor Auguste Bartholdi offered to the
museum of Luxembourg the bronze model that
he used to carry out the Statue of Liberty
of New York. This statue was placed in
1906 in the Jardin du Luxembourg (Paris)
